is a program that helps the
young people of Kenya to
achieve their goals of
becoming a productive part of
the society in which they live.
It was just a few short years
ago that free education was
not even available to the
children of Kenya. Now all
children have the opportunity
to get an education.
FREE education is not
necessarily FREE!

All students are required to wear a uniform- $25
All students pay for their own school supplies- $10-$15(more for secondary)
All students pay for school fees- varies from $25-$100 per semester(more for secondary)
Sometimes the parents of students are ask to help pay the salaries of the teachers, because the
government does not provide enough money.
For many families, to pay school fees takes the majority of their income- for the orphanages, they
sometimes have to choose who goes to school and who stays home.
