John and Valerie Hays in January

What do we
do?

Currently Mercy's Hope
works with one orphanage in
Githunguri, Kenya. We work
to raise awareness of the
level of poverty in which the
children of these homes face
on a daily basis. We raise
money to provide temporary
relief from the discomfort of
hungry, illness and cold. We
are also working on plans to
provide a more permanent
solution to the problems of
poverty and AIDS. We also
have two Widow groups in
which we support through the
purchasing of hand-made
jewelry. We then sell the
jewelry and the profit goes to
further "A Widows Worth"
program.

Why do we do what we do?
The calling to serve the children of Kenya,
Africa was born out of the example Jesus
Christ gave us all in the scriptures which
states:
"Religion that God our Father accepts as
faultless is this: to look after the orphans and
the widows in their distress and to keep
oneself from being polluted by the world."
James 1:27
